The first ever female University of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar is destined to be a leading public sector Women University to impart education to the female population of this region in order to develop scientific, socio cultural, economic and political stability, through learner centered teaching and research, while strengthening the identity of the students at national and international level.
Prof. Dr. Syeda Farhana Jahangir the founder Vice Chancellor of the Women University in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leading the ship from the front laid the successful foundation of an annual tradition of the Convocation in this institution.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, faculty and staff honored 213 graduates at the 1st Convocation on Wednesday, 28th March, 2012 (5th Jumada al- Awal, 1433 Hijra). A total of 154 students were conferred Masters of Science degrees in the disciplines of Psychology, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science & Statistics while a total of 59 students were conferred Masters of Arts degrees in the disciplines of Arabic, Islamiyat & English. These students were from Sessions 2005-07, 2006-08, 2007-09 & 2008-10. Gold Medals were awarded by the chief guest to 34 students for their well-deserved and distinctive achievements.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar, Chancellor Barrister Syed Masood Kausar Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa graced the ceremony as the chief guest held at the Convocation Hall, University of Peshawar at 10:00 am. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, graduating students and their parents.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chancellor expressed his gratitude over the splendid performance of the students. He extended his heartiest felicitations to the esteemed faculty, graduating students and their parents.
