Dr. Fariha Sami completed her PhD in Economics in 2018 and is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s University, Peshawar, Pakistan since 2019. A Gold Medalist in BS Economics, she has over 12 years of experience in both academic and non-academic institutions. She has authored 27 research articles published in various national and international impact factor journals and contributed to four international book chapters (indexed in Web of Science and Scopus). In addition to her academic work, she is the Assistant Editor of the FWU Journal of Social Sciences (X category, HEC-recognized) and a member of the editor board in the Journal of Political Stability Archive (Y category, HEC-recognized). Dr. Sami has worked on multiple national and international research projects. Dr. Sami also serves as a volunteer director with the Human Care Foundation, where she works on programs related to climate change, women's empowerment, youth development, gender equity, and education reform, among others

Brief Statement of Research Interest

My research interests encompass all major areas of economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, development economics, international economics, public finance, monetary and financial economics, labor economics, industrial economics, agricultural economics, environmental economics, behavioral economics, Islamic economics, econometrics, and economic policy, with a focus on sustainable development, economic growth, poverty reduction, and human welfare. I am interested in exploring economic challenges, public policy, and sustainable socioeconomic development. My academic interests are complemented by my engagement in research publications, academic conferences, and research projects that contribute to knowledge creation and evidence-based policymaking. Through my research publications, international book chapters, funded research projects, and academic collaborations, I aim to generate evidence-based insights that inform public policy and promote

inclusive and sustainable economic development. Beyond academia, my voluntary leadership as Director of the Human Care Foundation reflects my commitment to community development, humanitarian initiatives, and social welfare. It strengthens my commitment to women's empowerment, youth development, climate action, gender equity, and educational advancement. I aim to integrate academic research with practical experience to support inclusive economic growth, improve community well-being, and contribute to sustainable development.
