Peshawar, Pakistan - Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar, in collaboration with Pak Everbright Development Organization (PEDO), launched the Disability Resources Centre (DRC) on International Day of Women with Disabilities, December 22, 2025.

The ceremony, held at the university, featured ribbon cutting by dignitaries including Chief Guest Governor KP Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi and former Speaker KP Assembly Mr. Kiramatullah Khan Chagarmatti. The centre aims to promote inclusive education and empower students with disabilities through resources, support services, and advocacy for equal opportunities.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the centre's focus on supporting disabled females in KP, appreciating PEDO CEO Mr. Shahab and the university team including Ms. Tashfeen Zia, Dr. Wilayat Bibi and Ms. Sobia Karamat.

Governor KP Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi urged universities in KP to replicate the initiative, stating it sets a precedent for inclusive education in the region. Mr. Chagarmatti lauded the collaboration, highlighting the need for accessibility and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in KP.

The event marked a significant step towards promoting inclusivity in higher education.
