International Women’s Week Celebrations & Spring Festival 2020

One week International Women’s week celebrations concluded today followed by Spring Festival. Speaker Provincial Assembly (KP) Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The week long celebrations included intervarsity women matches, Student talent hunt, Women success stories and a seminar on human rights and gender equality. The concluding ceremony comprised of multi-lingual debates, cake cutting ceremony and certificate distribution among the organizers of the event and position holders of the student talent hunt.

On the occasion. University Vice Chancellor. Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana while addressing the audience stated that commemoration of women day is an honor for ourselves as we’re women and we celebrate ourselves. She said we’re blessed to have independence in our country as not every country give this privilege to its resident women. Women hold a very important role in the economic and social wellbeing of a society and this gives them a special place in the society but all this is not possible without female education and skill development.

She acknowledged the support extended by the previous PTI government and the developmental projects granted and executed during its tenure. She also expressed her expectation for the continued support by the sitting government and the other stake holders. She appealed the parents of female youth that they must support the female education as it the key to success.

Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani while addressing the occasion stated that respecting females should be the first priority of our society. They deserve respect, care and love as they are the nation builders and our religion has also directed us to do so but unfortunately the society is not willing to give the due respect to females which should be seriously condemned and we must put in our efforts to change this perception.

He declared that the university Vice Chancellor as a dynamic lady who has fearlessly taken productive initiatives for the female youth of her university. He added that I have seen the university flourished drastically. The Vice Chancellor did not leave ay chance to take the government and other stake holders on board to create opportunities and received facilitation for the university. He wished well for the university and stated that the beauty of a successful university lies in the quality of research and researcher it produces. Therefore strengthening of ORIC office is mandatory for producing quality graduates.

In the end he inaugurated the spring festival.
