List of Members of the Senate

As provided under Section 19(1) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities Act- 2016, the Senate shall consist of the following:

b. The Pro-Chancellor. The Minister of the relevant Administrative Department of Government shall be the Pro-Chancellor of the University and shall aid and advise the Chancellor in such manner as may be required by the Chancellor. EX-OFFICIO MEMBER
c. The Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Razia Sultana Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar. 9th April, 2014 Till expiry of tenure as Vice Chancellor

f. Secretary of the relevant Administrative Department of Government or his nominee not below the rank of an Additional Secretary. EX-OFFICIO MEMBER
g. The Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, or his nominee not below the rank of Additional Secretary. EX-OFFICIO MEMBER
h. The Secretary to Government, Finance Department, or his nominee not below the rank of an Additional Secretary. EX-OFFICIO MEMBER
i. The Secretary to Government, Establishment Department, or his nominee not below the rank of an Additional Secretary. EX-OFFICIO MEMBER
j. The Chairman, Higher Education Commission or his nominee not below the rank of Director General. EX-OFFICIO MEMBER
k. One eminent or distinguished graduates of the University who are not its employees to be nominated by the Chancellor. Ms. Mifrah Rauf Sethi, Clinical Psychologist, Peshawar Medical College.
l. Two persons from the academic community of the Province of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or the country, other than an employee of the University, at the level of professor or Principal, to be appointed by the Chancellor.
  1. Prof. Dr. Shehla Amjad, Head of Department/Professor, CMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad.
  2. Prof. Dr. Eatzaz Ahmed, Director International Institute of Islamic Economics, International Islamic University, Islamabad.

m. Four University Teachers, including one Professor, one Associate Professors, one Assistant Professors and one Lecturers to be elected by teachers of their respective cadres from amongst themselves.

Four persons from society at large being persons of distinction in the fields of administration, management, education, academics, law, accountancy, medicine, fine arts, architecture, industry, agriculture, science, technology and engineering with a view to create diversity and balance across the various fields, to be nominated by the Chancellor.
