Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar has been engaged in climate research and various activities under Climate Change Cell in collaboration with national and international organizations and institutions. On 7th June 2022, a preliminary meeting of environment and social staff of the World Bank was held at SBBWUP Peshawar with the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmed and faculty for engagement and collaboration of World Bank’s initiative on ‘Enhancing the Role of Academic Institutions on the Environmental and Social Framework (ESF). Under this initiative select faculty members and students from SBBWU Peshawar will be provided with the relevant trainings to fill the gaps in ESF capacity across Pakistan. The environment and social staff of World Bank included Ms. Puteri Natalie Watson, Ms. Lucienne, Ms. Sana Ahmed, Mr. Amir Hussain, Mr. Hammdan and Mr. Agha Kamil. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmed stated that the collaboration on capacity building of faculty and students is significant to support the implementation of the ESF and sustainable development in Pakistan.
