SBBWU Commemorated Labor Day

Minimum wage rate increased to PKR 21,000. Legal action to be taken in case of non-compliance – Shokat Yousafzai

The Directorate of Administration organized Labor Day to award certificate of commendation and cash prizes to the support staff who performed well during the year 2020 especially who worked significantly during the second and third wave of Covid. Minister for Labor & culture, Mr. Shoukat Ali Yousafzai graced the occasion as chief guest. The support staff from different cadres were awarded certificates and cash prizes were also distributed amounting PKR 10,000, 7,000 & 5, 000 among  1st, 2nd and 3rd winning teams out of 9 were during the flower show held a month ago. The bank of Khyber also presented a cheque of PKR 50,000 for the participants. On the occasion, university Vice Chancellor stated that acknowledgement and recognition are very important to boost performance. People talk about the resources but the actual asset is the human resource. She said that t5he PM Imran khan has always insisted upon investing in youth by educating and training them and transforming them into human capital so that they may become the strong pillars of the economy. She further added that PM has also envisioned collective thinking and teamwork and we are contributing to his vision in order to play role in the better future of the nation. She also said that no nation can succeed if the employees fail to own their organizations.

Minister for Labor & Culture stated that the minimum wage for the labor has been increased to PKR 21,000 which will be divided on 8 hours of work. The public sector and private sector organizations are now legally bound to pay the new fixed minimum wage to the labor. He said that we should acknowledge the services rendered by the labor in playing their important role in building the nation. He further said the govt has made an understanding with the ESSI under which the labor community will get complete benefits. This will cover their health and medical facilities, education, scholarships for the students, death grant as well as marriage grant so that tey may be benefited like any other working citizen
