RESIDENCE IN HOSTELS IS A PRIVILEGE AND NOT A RIGHT

Short Title

These regulations, which have been framed in pursuance of Section- 30 (h & i) of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar Act 2004, may be called the “SHAHEED BENAZIR BHUTTO WOMEN UNIVERSITY PESHAWAR HOSTEL REGULATION 2011”.

Commencement

These rules shall come into force with immediate effect.

Definitions

1. Authority means an Authority of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar.
2. Boarder means a regular and full-time student of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar allowed under these regulations to reside in a hostel.
3. Campus means the Campus of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar.
4. College means a Constituent College of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar as defined in the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar Act, 2004.
5. Academic Year means academic session beginning after Admission and ending with the Examination each year or as notified by the University.
6. Cultural Committee means a committee as defined in Section 6 (i).
7. Department mean a Department under the administrative control of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar.
8. Employees of the Hostel means ministerial and supportive staff of the hostel.
9. Hostel Authority includes the Provost, Deputy Provost and the Assistant Provost of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar.
10. Hostel Regulations mean regulations which are enumerated hereinafter.
11. Hostel Administration means the Senior Warden, the Resident Warden and the Assistant Warden of the hostel.
12. Hostel means any Hostel established and administered by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar.
13. Institution includes a University’s Constituent College, a Post Graduate Department, a Center, and all academic Institutions working under the administrative control of the University.
14. Mess Committee means a committee as defined under Section 5 (vi) of these Regulations.
15. Monitors mean a team of senior and impartial students appointed by the Provost on the recommendation of Wardens.
16. Provost / Deputy Provost / Assistant Provost means the Provost, the Deputy Provost and Assistant Provost of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar.
17. Warden/ Resident Warden / Assistant Warden means Warden, Resident Warden /Assistant Warden of the University.
18. Student means a student enrolled as a full-time student in an institution of the University for a Degree Programme.
19. Vice Chancellor means the Vice Chancellor of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar.
20. Student Teacher Center (STC) means University teaching and non-teaching Staff Hostel.

All other terms and references shall have the same meaning as given to them in the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar Act, 2004 and regulations framed under the same Act.
