Hostel Rules And Regulation

CLOSURE OF THE HOSTELS

The hostels will remain closed during the summer vacation or whenever deemed necessary by the Authorities and all residents will have to vacate the hostels immediately. Any foreign or M.Phil/ Ph.D students will have to pay their hostel dues in advance for the period of their stay. The boarders shall reach their hostels from the University after their studies.

Hostel Study Hours

Winter 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Summer 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Hostel Gates

The following General timings will be observed for opening and closing of the Hostel Gates:

Spring Semester

Fall Semester

Opening Time     07:30 A.M.

Opening Time       07:30 A.M.

Closing Time     05:00 P.M.

Closing Time        06:00 P.M.

Morning Shift: Students will leave for university with hostel officials at 07:45 a.m.

Students will report back to the hostel at 02:30 p.m.

Evening Shift:  Students will leave for University with hostel official at 11:45 a.m. Students will report back to the hostel at 04:30 p.m.

Morning Shift: Students will leave for university with hostel officials   07:45 a.m. Students will report back to the hostel at 02:30 p.m.

Evening Shift:  Students will leave for University with hostel official at 11:45 a.m. Students will report back to the hostel at 04:30 p.m.

 

VISITORS  

  1. Male visitors shall not be allowed inside the hostel. They can obtain the requisite information at the Hostel Gate.
  2. Residents will not be allowed to invite guests for casual meals or for overnight stay.
  3. No female outsiders shall be allowed to stay in the Hostels without permission of the Warden. A woman guest, with the prior approval of the warden, may stay for one night on payment of Rs.500/-(exclusive of mess charges) in emergencies. All other ex-University students who come to stay in the hostel during the examination session shall be charged full monthly room rent and light and service charges etc.
  4. They shall deposit a sum of Rs.500.00 as security and shall pay for the food according to the Hostel Regulations.

  

LEAVE APPLICATION AND COMPLAINTS 

All leave applications; complaints etc and other hostel matters shall be submitted to the warden. Students should get their applications signed by the Warden before going out of the hostel. In case of leave, a proper leave pass shall be taken and returned to the warden on termination of leave with parents/guardian’s certification.

 

VISITORS AND PERMISSION FOR GOING OUT 

  1. Every boarder must, at the time of admission to the hostel, submit a list of visitors with passport size photographs signed by her Parent or Guardian along with three photocopies of their National Identity Cards.
  2. Only Parents or guardians will be allowed to visit their hostels and to call them on phone. (in emergency cases only).
  3. Student’s telephones will remain under observation by the Warden.

0900 hours to 1700 hours

0800 hours to 1900 hours

Sunday:

1400 hours to 1700 hours

  1. Permission to see visitors must be obtained from the Warden. Residents must inform their visitors about the visiting days and timing. Visitors can see the residents only in the visiting rooms. Visitors from outstations can visit the residents (only under special circumstances or emergencies) on non-visiting days with the permission of Hostel Authorities. 
  2. The functions organized by the institutions could be attended by the residents after permission is granted by the Hostel Authorities on the recommendation obtained one day in advance and the permission slip will be maintained in a file and students who are attending the function record will record their timings of departure and arrival in a register. While going out a resident must sign the Register and record the time of departure, place of visit and time of return. She must also sign the Register on the return.
  3. Night attendance of the residents will be taken daily during study hours. 
  4. Weekly checkup of the residents’ rooms will be done by the Warden.  Residents could be fined for untidiness of rooms.
